‘Weaving is the work of the heart and the mind, not only the hand.’ Champa Siju, artisan
This exhibition is a celebration of the wider exchange project called Threads. Artists from Wales and artisans from Kachchh in rural Gujarat have shared studio time and field trips, community traditions and personal experiences. Work on show by myself, and Rajiben M. Vankar, Champa Siju, Eleri Mills, Laura Thomas and Louise Tucker.
Threads is produced by Ceri Jones, Fieldwork, in partnership with Khamir, Ruthin Craft Centre, and Carmarthen School of Art. It is funded by Wales Arts International, British Council Wales and the Arts Council of Wales’ Creative Wales Ambassador Award.
